Transcriptions of my collected Kress tunes!
I´m publishing all of my transcribed Kress tunes on this homepage. The published songs are my originals, handwritten, and photocopied to PDF files. A transcription usually takes a minimum of 3-4 working days to complete, so a lot of work is behind every song! (The transcriptions are 3-5 pages!) For this reason I´m charging $10 per transcription. Look a bit further down this page: Just click on the black icon directly below the song title/record label/preview photo; pay with credit card, fill in your mail address as instructed, and a link to the PDF file will be mailed to you! It would be such a pleasure to hear other guitarists playing these arrangements!

To my knowledge there exists only 4 later recordings of these tunes: ”Two Moods”(big band version featuring Ivor Mairants, 1945); ”Lament in E”(Grosz/Wright duo, 1977); ”Minuet in Miniature”(Grosz/Peters duo, 2006), and ”Lament in E” on our record (Karlsson/Bohlin).

The following transcriptions/sheet music were given to me by internationally renowned Swedish jazz guitar player Rolf Jardemark (https://rolfjardemark.com). Some of the best music by Carl Kress and Eddie Lang, since long out of print and very hard to find!

Transcription of George Barnes/Carl Kress duo recording “Clap Yo´ Hands” (LP “Guitars, Anyone?”, Carney Rec., 1977). Published by the magazine Guitar Player, end of 70´s.
